Advancing Collaboration and Research in Energy Transition: University of Miskolc and LUT Join Forces
The team’s visit coincided with the 23rd International Conference on European Energy Markets, where they engaged in discussions, networked with colleagues, and presented their groundbreaking research findings.
Led by the research group leader, Tekla Szép, the team comprised Tekla Szép, Zoltán Nagy, Katalin Lipták, Jaber Mohammad (Faculty of Economics), István Szunyog and Marianna Vadászi (Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering). Their presence marked the first face-to-face meeting following successful online interactions since the project’s launch.
The week’s highlight was a pivotal meeting held Tuesday morning between the University of Miskolc representatives and their LUT counterparts. This gathering served as a platform for fostering personal connections and establishing the groundwork for fruitful collaboration.
During the meeting, both teams shared their project research group’s aims and future goals, setting the stage for dynamic discussions. Each researcher took turns introducing themselves and their research fields, seeking areas of synergy and mutual interests. This significant meeting resulted in the identification of three key pillars for future cooperation in the energy transition field, as joint research papers, providing publishing opportunities, and supporting Partner Universities’ Doctoral Activities. In addition to these pillars, the teams emphasized the importance of short and mid-term mobility as a horizontal action supporting their activities. Mobility initiatives foster discussions, joint research projects, and connections that transcend geographical boundaries by encouraging researchers to exchange ideas, knowledge, and expertise across different locations.
During the conference, the team members delivered compelling presentations exploring crucial energy transition topics. Their papers included subjects such as the role of hydrogen in the existing natural gas infrastructure, the relationship between resilience and residential energy use, and facilitating the energy transition in specific regions.
This successful week of collaboration, marked by insightful discussions, groundbreaking research presentations, and the establishment of crucial pillars, has paved the way for transformative advancements in the energy transition field. The University of Miskolc and LUT are determined to continue the cooperation, harnessing their collective expertise to drive sustainable solutions for a greener future.
